Independent mind · Systems perspective

Ideas change the architecture of what comes next.

Cybersecurity. Emerging technology. Human systems. Research. Creative work. A body of work built around seeing the connections others miss—and making those connections useful.

The perspective

A multidisciplinary record. One consistent question:

What happens when we look past the component—and understand the system?

Technology does not operate in isolation. Security depends on people, incentives, architecture, governance, and the assumptions embedded in a system. The same is true of institutions—and of the tools we build to understand them. This work moves across disciplines because the problems do. The goal is not breadth for its own sake, but a clearer view of how the parts interact, where the failure modes live, and what can be done about them.
The principles behind the work
A selection, not the whole archive

Work at the intersections.

The homepage is the invitation. The deeper record—research, publications, presentations, systems, and source material—remains available beyond it.
01 / SECURITY & HUMAN SYSTEMS

Hacking Humans

A human-centered approach to social engineering, interfaces, trust, and the ways systems can be exploited through the people who operate them.

  02 / EMERGING TECHNOLOGY

Technology at the edge

Cybersecurity, AI, quantum technologies, post-quantum cryptography, and the supply-chain and governance questions around them.

  03 / SYSTEMS & EVIDENCE

Architecture for the record

Classification, persistent identifiers, records management, and operational systems designed to keep a complex body of work navigable and traceable.

04 / MUSIC, WRITING & THE OPEN ROAD

More than one way to make noise.

Music, writing, motorcycling, and creative work are not footnotes to the technical record. They are distinct practices with their own histories, audiences, and identities.

How the work is approached

Four operating principles.

Not slogans to decorate a page. Standards for how questions are investigated, systems are built, and claims are presented.
01 / Evidence

Show the work.

Distinguish observations, sources, analysis, and conclusions. Preserve the trail that lets others evaluate a claim.
02 / Systems

Map the connections.

Look beyond isolated components to dependencies, incentives, interfaces, and failure modes.
03 / Agency

Keep your agency.

Make the information legible. Give people room to question, verify, and make their own decisions.
04 / Attribution

Credit the source.

Ideas have histories. Authorship, provenance, and attribution belong in the record.
The method

Follow the evidence.

Ask what is known, how it is known, what remains unresolved, and what would change the conclusion. Prefer reproducible observations to convenient narratives.
The ambition

Make complexity navigable.

Depth should not require confusion. The right architecture helps people find the relevant path without pretending the underlying subject is simple.
A principle worth carrying forward
Take the knowledge. Attribution is not optional. Keep your agency.
