Senior Field Engineer / Consultant

Managed multi-organizational onsite teams of 10 technicians and vendors during nationwide Windows NT 4.0, OS / 2 Warp 3, and Unix BSD client / server installations and Token Ring to Ethernet migration. Team migrated sites across Arizona, California, New Mexico, Oregon, Texas, and Washington.

Promoted diversity and fostered team growth through integration of varied team members. Encouraged an egalitarian and open work environment. Built team morale, esteem, and professional competence. Built, installed, configured, and troubleshot servers, workstations, and network infrastructure. Provided client with field product training and demonstration, as well as pre- and post-sales technical support in a solution sales environment. Consulted with all levels of client organization to determine best way to meet needs; wrote SOWs (Statements of Work) to fulfill them. Advised clients on Windows security policies, equipment purchases, and image creation.

  • Identified, investigated, and resolved security breach. Handled confidential data and prepared documentation for internal security and management for over 6 months onsite to uncover criminal activity.
  • Selected by client to be sole onsite technical manager. Provided ongoing support, troubleshooting and resolution of all server, workstation, and LAN / WAN connectivity issues; and acquired outside vendor resources for onsite projects. Acted as official liaison to resolve communication and logistic issues between all levels of the company, including management, internal security, vendors, application developers, network engineers, and branch personnel to facilitate collaboration and maintain processes.
  • Discovered and remediated Novell NetWare 5.x client / server issues that prevented critical data transmission. Initiated nationwide networking project from this discovery and acted as lead engineer and subject matter expert for 40 onsite engineers during rollout.
  • Originated Y2K documentation project and acted as project lead and senior technical writer to develop software installation documentation for MicroAge locations nationwide. Implemented Y2K remediation efforts on machines at local offices.
  • Requested for projects not only by clients but was the only specifically requested team lead by both team members and end-users.
  • Received “Wells Fargo Enterprise Associate of the Month” and “Legends of Service” awards.
